Maureen, a native of eastern Massachusetts, is the granddaughter of immigrants from Inishturk, a small island off of the western coast of Ireland. She came to Ohio for graduate work in Slavic Languages at the Ohio State University following undergraduate work at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Following work in watercolors and study with Columbus artist Leland McClelland, Maureen became interested in the manipulation of light through digital technology and switched to digital photography as a medium. With a profound zest for life, Maureen is a 9 year breast cancer survivor. She captures the simple beauty of everyday life in her photography and has gained a dedicated family of followers to her craft.

Her work was displayed in the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio as part of Blooms and Butterflies 2012. Maureen's black and white photos of butterflies were on display at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the fall of 2012.
